In this painting we see the side of a brick building with a large window to one side. The bricks, mortar, and weathered wood textures are painted in a hyper photo-realistic style. Looking at this building it is obvious that whoever built it did so with pride and craftsmanship. It was built to last and the basic structure is still sound. But the window has not been maintained and the protection offered by the paint and glass is mostly gone. An attempt was made to keep unseen forces out by covering the window with plastic, but it could never stand against the forces that would seek to destroy it. Now, it lies abandoned and for most people, forgotten.
I am doing my best to interpret the age and society I live in through art. I have included titles and descriptions, but how you interpret what you see may very well be different from mine.
