Time has stripped most of the whitewash off of the siding of this structure, and because few enter weeds have grown up all around the door. In contrast to the rest of the building the door is bright white. Leaning, it still stands despite the broken hinges. There is a chain across the entrance but its placement does not seem to make sense. It is securely fastened to the outside door frame but then runs behind the door and up to meet two boards that are in the shape of an “X”. What purpose could the two boards and chain serve? Why is there red behind the door when the rest of the scene is in shades of gray. There are answers. You know there are.
I am doing my best to interpret the age and society I live in through art. I have included titles and descriptions, but how you interpret what you see may very well be different from mine. This does not bother me and it is very interesting to hear what you see in my artwork. So don't hesitate to e-mail me or leave comments with your reactions and thoughts.
