On a rural and isolated gravel road a once majestic house struggles against the elements. This house is in central Iowa but the location is not important as this situation is common in this society. A 1960’s Ford, a 4-door suitable for a family sits in the green grass unable to move. The wheels have been removed and the paint is faded, but it is not in that bad of shape all things considering. The trees are black and menacing as is the stormy sky in the background. So much time and effort had been expended, to what end? It is only a matter of time before the house falls and the car rusts away. Even so, we know best don’t we.
I am doing my best to interpret the age and society I live in through art. I have included titles and descriptions, but how you interpret what you see may very well be different from mine.
