This extremely detailed oil painting depicts an orange metal fence post covered with poison ivy and wrapped with tangled barbed wire. The fence post, barbed wire, poison ivy, and the tangle of brush must have some sort of deeper meaning than what is on the surface, but what? The tentacles of the poison ivy vine have reached out and trapped the post offering no way of escape, either for the vine or post. It was fenced in and had been that way for some time.
I am doing my best to interpret the age and society I live in through art. I have included titles and descriptions, but how you interpret what you see may very well be different from mine.
